In 1995, Russell founded a business that grew to £1.2 million in turnover, employing over 100 staff, before executing a successful exit in 2000. Building on this success, he scaled a single-branch domiciliary care provider to a 14-branch network with 1,500 staff, resulting in another successful exit.

As Managing Director at Saga, Russell led the turnaround of the Health and Social Care division from a small, loss-making operation into one of the largest providers in the UK. In just two years, he expanded the business from a single branch to 100 branches and 8,000 staff, through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions.

Russell is also highly skilled in improving operational efficiency and service quality. He transformed a £4 million loss-making domiciliary care provider into a profitable regional model, while building strong relationships with Local Authorities and CCGs.

At Promedica, Europe’s largest provider of live-in care, Russell drove the company’s successful UK expansion, creating a strategic franchise partner network and implementing scalable recruitment and training programmes.
